Sealand Harvesters History
Sealand Harvesters and Developers LTD was originally registered in 1987, but it wasn’t until 1993 that manufacturing Prestressed concrete components became the focus of the company. In light of the extensive experience gathered abroad in concrete technology and in auger-cast injection piling system, we decided to introduce into Belize the concept of Prestressed Concrete in the various disciplines of construction.
The introduction of Prestressed concrete, a new concept of technology to Belize, has been quite a journey. Belize on a hold had difficulty endearing this new method of construction when prior construction material was simply timber and then recently precast piles. We were initially viewed with skepticism because this system of construction was thought too advance to be produced here in Belize. However, working with local and international consulting firms the quality of our products speaks for itself. We are very happy to see that Belize is now embracing the concept of Belizean-produced prestressed concrete components in the construction of residential homes, schools, commercial buildings and in highway construction. The word is spreading about Sealand Prestressed and the more demanding jobs are requiring our product.
Initially we started with Low Cost Housings, Inverted T-Beams for roofs and floors, and Panel and Post components for the construction of Sea Walls for land reclamation in a marine environment. In the late 1990’s we expanded production to Prestressed-Precast concrete square piles in the sizes of 100 square inches, 144 square inches and 196 square inches with customized lengths for job application. More recently we have added Prestressed-Precast Double Tee’s to our list of Prestressed products. Our products are manufactured using the international standards of PCI, ACI and ASTM.
